Padding is required anytime you install a laminate floor . It is used to keep the moisture away from the flooring and absorb some of the minor imperfections of a sub-floor, as well as absorb sound and pressure.
There are several types of Padding that can be used with your flooring system and while many customers liken it to carpet padding, the reality is that it is not the same. Manufactures suggest a certain thickness depending on the type of the flooring system purchased as well as the location of the room being fitted.
